This Weekend Joey Eppard and Chris “Gartdrumm” Gartmann of “3” team up with Alana Orchid to form EGO for a weekend of unabashedly inspired music. We’ll be pulling out some of the older funkier 3 stuff and doing some of Alana’s tunes as well.

Sunday, September 19th will see 3 back at the Bearsville Theater in a show to honor of our former guitarist and friend Jason Foster. Jason was an icon in the Hudson Valley music scene that saw the birth of “3.” We opened for his innovative band Lunchmeat lots of times and then he Joined “3” in ‘98 and is featured on several tracks on our first record: Paint By Number. When Josh Eppard left the band in ‘99 it was Jason who said we should get Chris Gartmann. Jay took it upon himself to contact Chris and get him up for an audition. The rest is pretty much history. Jason loved music, it brought out the best in him and I’m grateful for the time we had to share the stage with him.
The concert is a benefit for The Road Recovery Foundation and will feature an incredible lineup of bands that Jason Foster performed with throughout his musical career. Several of the bands performing are reuniting after not performing for many years for one night only. Don’t miss this very special concert event for a very worthy cause!

WHO WAS JASON FOSTER? Jason Foster of Kingston, NY, was an exceptionally talented guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and friend to many. Like many gifted artists, Jason battled with depression and substance addiction throughout his life. He used music as his escape, which enabled him to create amazing music throughout his lifetime. Jason demonstrated his ability to persevere despite his illness and addiction for many years, experiencing moments of personal triumph through his creativity. Unfortunately, Jason lost his battle with depression and substance abuse and on September 22, 2009. September 22 was also the day, 40 years prior, that the world was blessed with his presence.
